So, when is bedtime? Midnight? 11pm? It depends?
When I first started waking early I found this a really hard one to answer. I didn’t want to stay up later then I should, but then I didn’t want to appear antisocial by heading up too early.
Over the weeks and months I have settled on 10pm, but even this seems too late at times. It still does give me 7 hours sleep before I rise, but my days are so busy (mentally and physically) at the moment, that I feel myself needing to lay down on my pillow even earlier.
I now do, and I’m quite relaxed about it. If I am feeling tired and sleepy, there’s a reason for it. I need sleep. So I listen to my slowing body and dozy mind, say my goodnights and get to bed. Invariably I’m fast asleep in 10 minutes at most.
Going to bed when you feel tired? Who’d have thought it?!
