How often have I been ill in the last couple of years? Five, ten even? What about my friends in the running club or bootcamp buddies. A day or two a year, that would be a lot.
The thing is, keeping fit all isn’t about six-packs, guns and lifting heavy. Keeping fit isn’t about running a marathon. Keeping fit is all about being able to do what you want to do, when you want to, and not being uncomfortable doing it. This may be taking the dog for a walk. It may be running a marathon. It may be lifting heavy. But it doesn’t have to be. It’s what you want it to be.
And the by-product? Our fit and healthy bodies are strong. Fit people generally have great immune systems. They resist disease, they fight. If we do get ill, it’s generally less serious, fit people recover quicker. Feeling good, day in day out, it’s a gift we deserve to give ourselves.
Us and our bodies – in Fitness and in Health. After all, we can’t get out of this relationship!
