Okay, so bootcamp isn’t exactly a fashion parade. What I’d suggest is that you wear what you feel comfortable in.
During the winter, choose warm clothing with layers that you can take off. Once you start working out you will get hot pretty quickly. Equally at the end of the session, when you’re doing a cooldown, you may want to put the layers back on quite quickly.
In the summer, you’ll want cool clothing.
If you think it’s going to rain it may be an idea to bring something waterproof. But it’s equally the case that once you’re inside your waterproof, you’ll get very hot and sweaty and quicky – you’ll quickly feel like you’re in a plastic bag! Yuk! And it may be quite uncomfortable.
I wouldn’t recommend clothes that are too baggy, as they tend to flap around and get in the way. Equally, I wouldn’t recommend clothes that are too tight as they can restrict your movement and be uncomfortable.
I would potentially consider wearing bright or reflective colours in the winter. This is especially true if you’re walking to and from bootcamp along the pavement, and basically want to be visible. When crossing the road you want drivers to see you!
I would recommend wearing gloves during the dark winter sessions. As it’s likely you’ll be asked to put your hands on the ground from time to time, having a bit of protection from whatever’s on the ground is a good idea. Further, when it’s very cold, a hat can be sensible.
So really in answer to the question, ‘What clothes should I wear to a bootcamp?’ it’s really just a matter of dressing to the conditions. Using a bit of common sense and ensuring that you are comfortable and can move freely in whatever you’re wearing is all that matters
And finally, white’s probably a bad idea! Or any t-shirts you particularly like!
